Buckeye Fabricating is able to offer several finishes, depending on your specific requirement. The standard finish for carbon steel tanks is a primed exterior, while the standard finish for stainless steel tanks is a mill finish.
In addition to these two finishes, Buckeye Fabricating is also able to offer:
Sandblasted
Glass Bead Blasted
Enamel Painted
Epoxy Painted
Mill Finish
As mentioned, Buckeye Fabricating’s standard finish for stainless steel tanks is a mill finish. This type of finish is described as having a dull-gray, matte appearance with a typical Ra value of approximately 3.5 – 7.5 µm. This type of finish is used for all types of industrial applications in which a specific finish is not required.

Sandblasted
Another popular finish that Buckeye Fabricating can provide is a sandblasted finish. A sandblasted finish is a mechanical finish in which the steel surface is subjected to a stream of high velocity sand via air pressure. The sand removes scale, crusted material, grind marks and weld discoloration and creates a gray appearance which is course to the touch. This type of finish is typically used for applications that require an aesthetically pleasing uniform appearance.

Glass Bead Blasted
Similar in practice to sandblasting, glass bead blasting is a finish that involves the removal of surface deposits by discharging glass beads at a high pressure. This type of finish gives the steel a finer texture than that of a sandblasted finish. As with sandblasting, this type of finish is typically used for applications that require an aesthetically pleasing uniform appearance, but is typically more expensive than sandblasting.

Painted
When it comes to carbon steel tanks, Buckeye Fabricating can provide an enamel painted finish or an epoxy painted finish, in addition to our standard prime painted finish. Besides giving the tank a sharp look with the color of your choice, the paint also helps prevent rust. Buckeye Fabricating’s epoxy paint is suitable for potable water tanks, as well as NSF 61 requirements.
